Sensible Life is a bi-monthly online magazine designed to provide ideas and insight for those who have an interest in approaching life and living from a more conservative perspective. In this stressful “keep up with the Joneses” world, Sensible Life invites you to sit back, relax, and forget about the Joneses. Articles fit into three major categories in the magazine: People, Style, Reviews and Finance.
Past publications have included how-to articles, tips on economical living, and inspirational pieces which prompt readers to look at life from a new perspective. We are always looking for articles for the five sections listed above, however, we consider submissions for all areas of the e-zine. Pieces should range from 500-2000 words.
We accept query letters and complete manuscript submissions by e-mail at www.sensiblelife.com. Acceptable formats include MS Word, HTML, Adobe PDF, or copied into the body of an e-mail. If you have an idea for an article, send a query outlining your idea to editor AT sensiblelife.com. The following are suggested editorial guidelines:
- Articles must be submitted by the 15th of the publication month, with a minimum of two months in advance. Holiday articles must be submitted 4 months in advance. The publication schedule is at the end of the beginning of the month.
- Acceptable formats for submission are as follows: attachments may be in MS Word, Adobe PDF or HTML, otherwise copy and paste your submission in the body of an e-mail.
- Put your full name, phone number and e-mail address at the top, left hand corner of the document and/or e-mail. If you plan to use a pen name, please indicate that below your name.
- Include in the subject line of the e-mail “Submission for:” and include the section you are targeting, such as Reviews, Style, etc.
- State availability of photographs with any articles you submit, and include the rights you have to publish such photographs.
- Check spelling, titles, capitalization, and punctuation guidelines as noted in the Chicago Manual of Style.
- As your submission goes through an editing process and we may ask you to make changes to the article, which may include spelling, grammar, or inclusion of more sources.
- Submissions containing profanity, violence, or other inappropriate content will not be considered.
- Freelance Photographers should send photos with submissions:

- Required: Identification of subjects in all photos.
