First, if you haven’t read the bill – please take a moment to download and read it for yourself. Do not listen to the mainstream media. Think for yourself.
If you haven’t heard them already, the left is running TV commercials entitled “Health Care for America NOW.” Take a visit to the site – check out the list of proponents. Then, question everything – you have a right to know the truth.
Our Steering Committee includes: ACORN, AFL-CIO, AFSCME, AFT, Americans United for Change, Campaign for America’s Future, Center for American Progress Action Fund, Campaign for Community Change, Children’s Defense Fund Action Council, Communications Workers of America, International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace & Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), MoveOn.org, NAACP, National Council of La Raza, National Education Association, National Women’s Law Center, SEIU, UFCW, USAction, Women’s Voices, Women’s Vote and Working America.
This site talks about how “wonderful” this proposed bill will be. Strange, they don’t mention the huge government bureaucracy and new agencies created. Nor, do they mention the amount of taxes to be levied. I wonder why they don’t embrace transparency?
Here are a few points we’ve picked out of this bill. We’re reading it again – we don’t want to miss one thing when it comes time to question our so called representatives about their intent.
- On page 16, Section 102 – you’ll find reference to your inability to get back on a private insurance plan should you be between jobs, laid off, etc. You’ll have to go on the government’s plan.
- Page 102 Section 207(c)(1)(A) – Individuals not obtaining “acceptable” coverage will be taxed.
- Page 143 Section 301 – The plan is to modify the Internal Revenue Code to make all these tax increases possible.
- Page 150 Section 313(b)(1) – We question Congress’ statistics on small business income; especially when the Small Business Administration – an agency of the government – reports annual revenues of small businesses in the US range from $0.75-33.5 Million. The House Democrats make it sound like they’re giving the small business owner a break, but it’s a facade.
- Section 1205 on page 398 is interesting… what qualifications does the US government have that your doctor doesn’t with respect to determining what presecriptions are best for you?
- On page 502 in Part D, Section 1181(a)(1) – why does the government feel the need to be the primary controller of pharmaceutical research and innovation? What about academia and private industry?
- Subchapter B Section 4375(a) on page 829 – if your company is fiscally strong enough to have its own self-insured plan, then the government wants to tax your company more.
- On page 836, Title IX Section 1901 – Congress is repealing the Medicare Prescription Act of 2003 so that they can replace it with a government run program. So much for the private industry that has been successfully managing this for the past 6 years.
The only good thing we found on that site is the list of House and Senate members who support this plan. Read it carefully, then contact yours to voice your opinion. Here is a list of who is up for election in 2010. You may want to remind them that they work for you – not the political action committees.
