Parents: Obama to Address Your Kids

Parents, have you seen any letters from your school letting you know that on September 8, 2009, at 12:00 PM noon EDT that Obama will be addressing your children who happen to be in public schools? We’ve asked parents in the Louisville Metro schools, Greater Clark County Schools (IN), and the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated Schools (IN) if they were aware… the answer was an overwhelmingly NO! Have you heard anything about this in the mainstream media?

What if you aren’t a supporter of the current administration and do not want your child to listen to the rhetoric? Do you have the option not to allow your child to attend?

On August 26, 2009, Education Secretary Arne Duncan sent a letter to all US public school principles. In that letter Secretary Duncan outlines that Obama will be speaking about the importance of education. But, Duncan also inserts keywords like “energy” and “health care.” Will Obama make comments about the people that oppose a national health care system? Will he disparage those that do not share his opinion? He’ll have unfettered access to YOUR CHILDREN – what else will he espouse?

The Education Department has put together two resources plans, one for PreK-6 and one for 7-12, to assist educators in preparing their students for the Obama speech.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Obama could speak about honest, integrity, and transparency as well?

I’ve spoken to a couple of neighbors on their way to work this morning… neither knew anything about it nor have their children brought anything home from school regarding this.

How did we get to the point that the government and the schools bypass the parents?
