			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>And, they have so much to offer; why are they pushing the Employee Free Choice Act? Don&#8217;t let the name fool you, there won&#8217;t be a &#8220;free choice,&#8221; this eliminates secret ballots for  unionizing a company.</p>
<p>Unions have poured millions into Congressional Democrat coffers over the years and the latest agenda that&#8217;s being pushed is legislation to take away workers&#8217; right to vote and provide the ability to certify unions after a card-check campaign.</p>
<p>The rhetoric being spouted by the union activists and their Democrat mouthpieces make it seem like this act would protect workers&#8217; freedom to freely choose to join a union. How would eliminating a secret ballot ensure freedom of choice? A private vote is more than a fundamental democratic right; it also protects workers and ensures that they can express their true views.</p>
<p>A union has a direct financial stake in the out­come of an organizing drive. If the workers organize, the union will collect 1 percent to 2 percent of their wages in dues.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s an example of union spin:</p>
<blockquote><p>America’s working people are struggling to make ends meet these days and our middle class is disappearing. The best opportunity working people have to get ahead economically is by uniting to bargain with their employers for better wages and benefits.</p>
<p>&#8230;</p>
<p>The Employee Free Choice Act (H.R. 800, S. 1041), supported by a bipartisan coalition in Congress, would level the playing field for workers and employers and help rebuild America’s middle class.</p></blockquote>
<p>It&#8217;s not about rebuilding the middle class. It&#8217;s about strengthening the union. Unions have been in control since 1866. Have they made a difference in the middle class? Union bosses get richer, does the union worker?</p>

As expected, none of this was picked up by the liberal media. Why? It embodies the essence of the socialist mindset of spreading the wealth around.</p>
<blockquote><p>A plan by Teresa Ghilarducci, professor of economic-policy analysis at the New School for Social Research in New York, contains elements that are being considered. . . .</p>
<p>The current system of providing tax breaks on 401(k) contributions and earnings would be eliminated. &#8220;I want to stop the federal subsidy of 401(k)s,&#8221; Ghilarducci said in an interview. &#8220;401(k)s can continue to exist, but they won&#8217;t have the benefit of the subsidy of the tax break.&#8221;</p>
<p>Ghilarducci outlined her plan last year in a paper for the left-liberal <a href="http://www.sharedprosperity.org/bp204.html" target="_blank">Economic Policy Institute</a>, in which she acknowledges that her plan would amount to a tax increase on workers making more than $75,000&#8211;considerably less than the $250,000 Barack Obama has said would be his tax-hike cutoff. In addition, workers would be able to pass on only half of their account balances to their heirs; presumably the government would seize the remaining half. (Under current law, 401(k) balances are fully heritable, although they are subject to the income tax.)</p></blockquote>

We&#8217;ve brought together a few things that you need to be on guard about. If the banning of opposition media from Obama&#8217;s plane is any indication of what is to come, then the truth may be more difficult to find.</p>
<ul>
<li>Source of Information: Watch carefully to see if conservative media lose their place in an Obama presidency. If Fox News and others are shut out from the White House press corps and only the liberal media remain; it will be more difficult to find the truth.</li>
<li>Watch for the abolishment of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posse_Comitatus_Act" target="_blank">Posse Comitatus Act</a>: The statute generally prohibits federal military personnel and units of the National Guard under federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. On <a href="http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/07/02/obamas-remarks-on-service/" target="_blank">July 2, 2008, Obama said</a>: &#8220;We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we&#8217;ve set. <strong>We&#8217;ve got to have a civilian national security force that&#8217;s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded</strong>.&#8221;  {Emphasis added.}</li>
<li>Watch for changes to the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insurrection_Act" target="_blank">Insurrection Act</a>; The Insurrection Act of 1807 is the set of laws that govern the President of the United States of America&#8217;s ability to deploy troops within the United States to put down lawlessness, insurrection and rebellion. There have been dangerous modifications to that Act already. Watch and see if it gets watered down more or if your civil liberties fade away.</li>
<li>Increase in FCC authority: If the FCC suddenly starts censoring media outlets that &#8220;go against&#8221; the will of the state; we&#8217;re headed for deep trouble.</li>
<li>Celebrations from unusual audiences: If Hamas, Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations start to dance in the streets and celebrate our new electorate; tinges of buyer&#8217;s remorse may start to settle in. An article on a <a href="http://counterterrorismblog.org/2008/10/al_qaedas_propaganda_aims_to_a.php">well read counterterrorism blog</a> has an interesting viewpoint.</li>
</ul>
<p>A <a href="http://www.crosswalk.com/blogs/mCraven/11590382/" target="_blank">quote by Jonathan Falwell</a> really struck home. Some folks may have just put into office America&#8217;s first &#8220;made for TV&#8221; president.</p>
<blockquote><p>Unbridled by true religion and the moral knowledge that follows, the current political season reveals that the majority of Americans may have finally succumbed to self–destructive gluttony. Thus their choice on Tuesday may represent what Plato feared: that the masses, uninformed by [moral] reason, have been easily swayed by the emotional and deceptive rhetoric of ambitious politicians.</p></blockquote>
<p>Does the phrase &#8220;emotional and deceptive rhetoric&#8221; sound a lot like what you&#8217;ve been fed by the mainstream liberal press? It makes us wonder if the uninformed masses will wake up and wonder what they brought home with them last evening.</p>
<p>A minority of voters believed that moral issues are the main focus and that government should play a limited role in our lives. In other words, those are the people who believe in a free constitional republic. The majority of voters, led to the polls by hook or by crook, increasingly look for that government handout to solve all of their problems. They lack in self-initiative and are purely existing for the entitlements. That abhorrent behavior results in a socialist democracy closer to what is seen across Western Europe. One needs to heed the words of Benjamin Franklin: “When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” A &#8220;spread-the-wealth&#8221; president just got elected.</p>
<p>We leave you with a couple of quotes from one of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, &#8220;I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today may well be the most important day in our country&#8217;s history. For the past 232 years we have had a democracy thriving in a free market economy. On July 4, 1776, several forward-thinking men put on paper a concept that has shaped our nation.</p>
<blockquote><p>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.</p></blockquote>
<p>When reading this again today, I stumbled across this and thought that it was very appropriate for today&#8217;s post.</p>
<blockquote><p>Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes;</p></blockquote>
<p>For the past several months, the liberal drive-by media has hoisted up &#8220;that one&#8221; as being what is right for our country. The Democrats hatred of America, George Bush, and conservatism has resulted in a drunken orgy of monumental proportions. Never in my lifetime have I seen the media ignore truth and facts to such a degree. Their control of the airwaves is designed purely to keep Americans from finding out the truth. Let us pray this isn&#8217;t a harbinger of a state-run media being forced upon us.</p>
<p>By midnight tonight we will learn the fate of our democracy. It will either persevere or take a dangerous turn to the socialist left. Should Barack Hussein Obama win; the deadly duo of Pelosi and Reed may enact such heinous laws that this country may never be able to truly recover. When Obama talks about change, he wants to rewrite the Constitution and redistribute the wealth - it&#8217;s the socialist way. His regime could liberalize our courts with judicial appointments that legislate from the bench as opposed to upholding the Constitution.</p>
<p>On September 17, 1787, the United States Constitution was adopted. The first ten amendments are our Bill of Rights. These are the protections that we&#8217;re entitled to in a free America.</p>
<ol>
<li><em>Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.</em></li>
<li><em>A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.</em></li>
<li><em>No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.</em></li>
<li><em>The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.</em></li>

<li><em>In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.</em></li>
<li><em>In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.</em></li>
<li><em>Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.</em></li>
<li><em>The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.</em></li>
<li><em>The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.</em></li>

<p>If Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have their way; we may be looking at a very different America by the time of our next presidential election in 2012. Focus on the Family posted a <a href="http://www.sensiblelife.com/editorial/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/10-22-08_2012letter.pdf" target="_blank">letter</a> yesterday describing what America may look like in four years.</p>
<p>An Obama regime will probably use the &#8220;Fairness Doctrine&#8221; to silence his critics. This online magazine may become illegal as we lose our freedom of speech and freedom of the press.</p>
<p>An Obama regime will probably try to categorize evangelical Christianity as &#8220;hate speech.&#8221; Will pastors in churches across this country be hauled off their pulpits in handcuffs? Will we lose our freedom of religion? While Obama&#8217;s spiritual leader, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, said heinous and hateful things from his pulpit; that is his constitutional right.</p>
<p>Will an Obama regime go house to house and take away your guns? After all he claimed the we &#8220;cling to our religion and guns.&#8221; What about our constitutional right to bear arms; will we lose that? What about our protection against unlawful search and seizure?</p>
<p>We at Sensible Life will be praying constantly today as Americans go to the polls and vote. We urge you to do the same.</p>

<p>YOU know our future, and YOU have a plan.  Keep us in the palm of your hand as we make a choice that will affect generations.  Know that whatever happens on November 4, YOUR loyal children will continue to fight for our right to defend YOUR WORD.</p>

<p>Almost 100 years ago, economist William Graham Sumner aptly described the way a big government philosophy – the same philosophy Barack Obama espouses today - treats the productive American worker, calling him the “Forgotten Man.”</p>

<p>Which is better for our economy: Politicians redistributing our wealth or growing more wealth?  And Senator Obama gave us an equally stark answer: Under his leadership, America will focus on “spreading around” the Forgotten Man’s wealth, not encouraging him to create more of it.</p>
<p>So while Obama claims he will cut taxes for 95% of working families, what he really plans is to take more money from the Americans who already pay the great majority of income taxes and “spread the wealth” to many who don’t even pay taxes to begin with in the form of a government check.</p>

<p>With Obama raising a record amount of money - some $600 million - makes the staff of Sensible Life wonder if there are truly economic problems in the US. Maybe the economic fundamentals are indeed strong.</p>
<p>If the Democrats have that much money, maybe Obama will redistribute it to those of us who aren&#8217;t that rich.</p>
