Congress and Obama Seeking to Kill Marriage

While the mainstream media seeks to keep your attention tuned to the health care debacle, Rep. Jerrold Nadler [D-NY8] introduced HR 3567 to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. Nadler has been in the House since 1992 and is up for re-election in 2010. How ironic that they titled the bill “Respect for Marriage Act of 2009.” Nearly 100 members of the House have signed on as sponsors to this bill.

The truth is Obama and the liberal Democrats are pandering to the gay agenda and want to force their lifestyle on the majority of us who believe marriage is between a man and a woman. Obama stated his intentions clearly going back to his campaign days in 2008. Did you even know Obama declared June 2009 to be National LGBT Month? During one of his speeches, he bragged about his goal of repealing the Defense of Marriage Act. Did the mainstream media cover this?

Nothing like this would be covered by the liberal media because they know the American people would be outraged. The truth is 57% of Americans oppose gay marriage and 48% feel that allowing gay marriage will change our society for the worse. (CNN Poll 05-05-09, USA Today/Gallup Poll 05-28-09) Liberal media is notorious for suppressing the truth.

What is the truth? In our opinion, like the majority of Americans, we believe marriage is between a man and a woman. We also share the opinion that the federal government should leave marriage alone in its entirety. There is nothing in the Constitution that gives the federal government the right to meddle in marriage.

That then means that marriage is a state issue. Once again, Obama and the liberal Democrats are usurping states’ rights. It should be up to individual states whether or not they allow homosexual marriage and/or whether or not they recognize said unions performed in other states. This administration’s agenda is leading to a loss of Constitutional vitality.

We strongly urge you to contact your Representative NOW – remind them who they work for and tell them to vote NO on HR 3567.
