Still I Stay Here

By: Taylor Anderson

Window of contemplation

Window of contemplation

Here…
Gazing up toward the sky
Laying on crushed leaves left from last fall,
That no one wanted to rake.
The windows’ cracked
And the grass isn’t completely green.
Still I stay here.

Each night…
The complaints, the screams
Get LOUDER then softer.
Waiting for the noise to cease
Is like wanting it to rain
When the sun refused not to shine.
Still I stay here.

Writing…
With my words with my poetry,
I can be set free,
No limits everything I need to fix
My problems their problems, its up to me.
Nothing is clear anymore.
Still I stay here.

Accident…
Not by a goal
But by fault
I was brought into this world.
It’s my fault they fight
And their nights go on for so long.
Still I stay here.

Blame…
I’ll take it, I’ll cover everything up
I won’t let anyone know.
With my disappearance
I’ll let go and maybe you can begin
Something new, something better.
I won’t stay here
