911 caller dies in fire. Could this have been prevented?

Hearing various news reports surrounding a 911 caller’s plight definitely places in question whether the emergency dispatchers exercised due diligence in getting Brenda Orr the assistance needed. Granted, there are those who have commented that she should never have smoked in bed, but that’s not really the issue here.

What if she hadn’t been a smoker? What if something else had sparked the blaze? Trying to place blame on the 911 caller only sidetracks from the real issue. 911 is there to get emergency assistance immediately, and when something like this happens, it breaks down the trust in the entire system.
